Solar Panel Cleaning

Have you had solar panels for more than 12 months?

Solar panels are a fantastic investment and can save you money in the long-run, but they must be maintained. Solar panels should be cleaned at least once every 12 months, or you could be losing more money than you think.

Rain water leaves deposits of calcium and magnesium (limescale) on solar panels when it evaporates (see image). Algae and other organics can also grow on, and even into the surface of solar panels. These deposits and growths reduce the efficiency of your solar panels by up to 50%, and require your panels to be cleaned. Unfortunately, “self-cleaning” solar panels are a marketing myth.

Due to the delicate nature of solar panel glass, it is important that panels are not allowed to develop build-ups that require force to remove. If allowed to develop, these build-ups could only be partially removed, permanently reducing the efficiency of your solar panels.

Why wait for problems to develop? Take care of your investment and your investment will take care of you. When you don’t want standard, you need STANNARD.
